Michele Marelli, born in Alessandria (Italy) in 1978, took in 1997 the Conservatory of Alessandria degree with the best marks and honour under the guidance of Prof. Giacomo Soave. He studies Literature and Philosophy at the University of Turin. From 1997 he is a pupil of Suzanne Stephens. He performed many works by Stockhausen such as Der kleine Harlekin, Traum Formel, Susani, Elufa, Ave and he was awarded twice by Stockhausen for the best interpretation of his works: in August 2000 he won the Sonderpreis and in August 2001 the prize of 5000DM, in duo with Karin De Fleyt.He was winner of the Honorary LOGOS award for the best concert of the year 2000 at the Logos Foundation in Gent (Belgium) and winner of the auditions of the Gioventù Musicale d' Italia. He collaborated with composers such as Sylvano Bussotti, Franco Donatoni and Giorgio Gaslini.He is specializing in England with Alan Hacker (also conducting) and in France with Alain Damiens. From June 2001 he receives the scholarship promoted by the De Sono Association for music (Turin).He is solo clarinet of the improvising Ensemble Impressive.
