"Kürten some day will be an important place, because here a new spirit has been born, a musical spirit and it will spread over the whole planet,
I am sure. Even after my death, this place will be come a birthplace of a new spiritual music for the whole world".

A note from Jim Stonebraker, webmaster and participant of the Stockhausen Courses Kürten 2009:

"The Stockhausen Courses Kürten 2011 are not only aimed at composers, performers, musicologists and technicians.
Any lover of Stockhausen’s music is cordially invited to observe the rehearsals, master classes, lectures and concerts.
All instruction and dialogue is in English. The atmosphere and dress code is relaxed and informal.
You will also enjoy a great deal of friendship and camaraderie among the participants.
Come and join us in Kürten this summer for the musical experience of a lifetime!"

JOURNAL D‘UN MUSICOLOGUE A KÜRTEN (French)

Kuerten is a small community about 30 kilometres (19 miles) east of Cologne in the part of Germany called Bergisches Land.
Stockhausen lived there since 1965. For the fourteen year, the community of Kuerten is allowing the Stockhausen Foundation for Music
to use its school complex and community centre for the continuation of its annual international composition and interpretation courses.
Composers, interpreters, musicologists and music lovers world-wide are warmly invited to participate in the tenth Stockhausen Courses.
